Hiram G. Martinez
Hiram graduated from Bloomsburg University and received his bachelor of arts degree in political science. He also received his master of public administration degree with a graduate certificate in public sector human resources management from Penn State University. His passion for people, along with his organizational and communication skills, and strong commitment to community engagement contribute to the POISE mission.
Throughout his career, Hiram has worked as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer within higher education. Most recently, he served as assistant director/coordinator of diversity initiatives at West Chester University and he previously served in various roles within the Office of Social Equity & Diversity at Millersville University. His extensive experience includes DEI program management, training and education, human resources/talent acquisition, and strategic planning. Additionally, his past volunteer leadership includes service to the Global Awareness Society International, NAACP, and the Spanish American Civic Association.
A native of Puerto Rico, Hiram currently resides in Lancaster, PA with his spouse and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, supporting his kids athletic pursuits, traveling to international destinations, and rooting for Philadelphia sports teams.
